Frequently Asked Questions

How does the service work?

I will visit your home and together we will set up a checklist of items you wish to be included in each visit.

How often do you make visits?

I am willing to schedule visits on daily, weekly, alternate weeks, every 3 weeks or once a month.

Do I have to pay in advance; what about cancelled visits?

I will bill you monthly for only the visits that I actually make.  There is no advance payment required and you are free to increase/reduce/change/postpone or skip visits.  Just let me know.

What do you charge for a visit?

The basic visit is $25 for a 40 minute visit.  I can accomplish most of the menu items in this time period.  However, this will be established when we meet at your home.  See the link on the home page for more information.

How is billing and payment arranged?

You will be billed once a month and a check by mail is requested.

Are there discounts?

I will give you one free visit for each new customer you refer that establishes a caretaking arrangement with me.

Are you licensed, insured?

I am licensed in Oro Valley, Marana and the City of Tucson. Unincorporated Pima County does not issue business licenses for this type of service. I am also fully insured and bonded. I will be happy to provide proof upon request.

Will you just water outdoor plants?

I am willing to do a mini-visit for outdoor watering only starting at $18 per visit.

Are you familiar with security systems; irrigation and drip systems; heating and cooling systems?

Yes.  I have operated a wide variety of these systems and have access to professional advice when needed. 

What are the services available at an extra cost?

These include professional housecleaning; extra visits to meet and supervise pest control techs, carpet cleaners, etc; arranging and supervising emergency repairs; and shopping for groceries.  These services begin at $20/hr.  Of course you will be billed for the repairs, groceries, etc. See the link on the home page for more information.

What security do you offer for my house key and security system information?

I take only the key(s) necessary for that day’s visits with me. Security systems’ passwords, etc. are kept in a code only known by me.

Who do you call in case of emergencies, ie water leaks, roof damage, heat/cooling etc.?

I am familiar with a variety of excellent technicians that will respond to an emergency call.  I’ve developed a good relationship with them and they will bill the customer directly.

Will you take care of my dog/cat/fish?

I do not spend the night at your home.  I will visit daily or on an agreed upon schedule to look after your pets.  I am experienced and comfortable with dogs, cats, fish, snakes, rodents, tortoises.  I’ve owned one or more of all the above.

Do you have a valid driver’s license and insurance to drive my car?

Yes and am insured by The Hartford.  Contact me for specific coverages.

How far away do you live from me?

I live near Foothills Mall at Ina and LaCholla.  I can reach all the homes in my service area in 30 minutes or less.

How long have you been doing this business; what are your qualifications?

I have been a professional housekeeper/caretaker for more than 25 years.  I usually have a waiting list for my housekeeping openings.  I am a single woman and am able to support myself because of the loyalty and trust of my many customers.
